On Saturday, June 29, Alexian Brothers Bonaventure House and Chicago Department of Public Health hosted its annual Sober & Proud 2013. This year’s theme was Decades of Dance and over 100 guests came out to enjoy delicious food, arts & crafts, music, and plenty of talent. This year, guests were also able to take part in rapid HIV testing along with receiving resources about STI and HIV prevention.
Sober & Proud offers a safe, sober, and celebrating atmosphere during Chicago’s very own Pride Week. Being “The Only Sober BBQ” during the week this event is extremely important to Pride Week celebrants who are currently in recovery or have recovered from drug or alcohol addictions. With family and friends as supporters, Sober and Proud is the best place to be during Pride Week.
Thanks to everyone who came out to support Sober & Proud: Decades of Dance. Hope to see everyone again next year!
