Saturday, June 15, 2013 Alexian Brothers Housing and Health Alliance celebrated its annual Founder’s Day with a bang. This year we invited community partners, supporters, volunteers, staff and residents to not only participate but celebrate our organization, the history, and everyone who has contributed its success along the way.
This year the ceremony opened up with a welcome from our very own Cheryl Potts, Executive Director of Alexian Brothers Housing and Health Alliance followed with a prayer from Brother Tom Klein. Later in the ceremony Bridget Purdome, Spiritual Care Coordinator shared reflections and Bonaventure House’s resident Joseph R. and former resident Alexia W. shared their experiences with Bonaventure House.
Awards were presented by Cheryl Potts.
The Alexian Award of Excellence was given to an individual who advocates, shows commitment and dedication to Alexian Brothers Housing and Health Alliance. Julia Geils was the recipient this year as she continues to show her dedication and service by volunteering, participating on the board and successfully organizing our “Taste For Life” fundraiser for the past 10 years.
This year’s President’s Award was awarded to Andrew Snyder & the Alexian Health Systems Marketing Department. Over the past year these individuals have transformed the Alexian Brothers AIDS Ministry to Alexian Brothers Housing and Health Alliance through marketing which has opened new doors for our many programs and services. This team has gone above and beyond to show their commitment to Alexian Brothers Housing and Health Alliance.
Julie Drover received this year’s Volunteer Service Award for her consistence and commitment to donating meals for the many events and holidays. Through her heart felt gesture Bonaventure House residents have a good nutritious meal for their holidays and social events throughout the year.
Thanks to everyone who came out to support Founders Day 2013! See you next year!
